There is one feature missing from iPads and Android tablets that should be included by default. In fact, I think it's a no-brainer: Multiple user accounts.

A tablet is not a phone. It is the kind of device that can be left on the coffee table for anyone in a household to pick up and use. Each person should have their own login and personalised settings, just like a PC. But tablets don't work like that. There is no concept of multiple user logins. They are designed for one person, like a phone, with only one Gmail, Facebook, Twitter etc profile and that is a major mistake.

Some people will say that their tablet is set up just for them and they don't want to share it. That's fine, but it doesn't negate the need for multi-logins. They could just choose to set up only one account. For those of us living in a household where everyone would want to use a tablet, having only one profile makes no sense.

There is a multi-account app for iPads, but it is, at best, a workaround that requires resetting the tablet each time someone logs in. See the video below:

There is an active discussion on the Android project website about this issue, so go along and have your say. Maybe Google will listen and add multiple accounts to the next version of Android.
