Whilst driving to a gig a while ago I realised that if I lost my phone, or it suddenly died, I wouldn't know what route I was taking, where I was actually going, or know any numbers to ring to find out details or let people know my predicament. I would be, quite literally, lost.

My favourite bits of technology have now become 'stuff I didn't know existed/didn't exist a few years ago, on which I am now dependant'. And they are:

Mobile phone voice, SMS and internet networks. Google Calendar, Gmail, Navigation and Maps. Twitter and Facebook.

It really would be tough to go 'cold turkey' without them. I suspect many of you out there may be the same..
