An MP3 player pop up windowWith the demise of the LP, cassette tape and, just maybe, the CD, many people who are involved in the often tortuous, technical and demanding process of creating a music recording have become almost invisible to the digital consumer of that recording, who may never have seen the cover and liner notes of the physical media.

When playing a music file a PC media player or an iPod will show the artist, album and song name by default and maybe the composer, publisher and even the lyrics if you ask it to. Many others though, who used to be name checked and listed, will be almost invisible to the listener. They have become The MP3 Disappeared.
