OK, roll up your sleeves, get yourself some scissors, sticky-back plastic and glitter - I'm going to show you how to get your Windows Mobile phone, blog and Twitter all stuck together with glue. You will need:
- A Windows Mobile phone with a camera
- A blog
- A Twitter.com account
First of all let's assess the problem we are going to address. So you're out and about and you take a cool photo and you think "that would look neat on my blog with some text along with it" and "let's share that on Twitter". But, as far as I know, there is no decent all in one software package for Windows Mobile that will let you do this easily. I'm sure there are other ways to do this, but here's my solution.
STEP 1: Take a photo. Ah, hang on, as your phone probably has at least a 2 megapixel camera and you've probably got it on the default highest quality setting, that picture you just took is huge and not suitable for the web. There are photo editing options in Windows Mobile 6.1, but resizing isn't included (go figure..). Luckily, as there is a large developer community out there, there is a solution.
You now have the means to resize that photo and make it more web friendly.
STEP 3: Let's make it easy to post your picture to your blog (you remembered to get a blog, right?) by signing up to BlogMailr -
http://blogmailr.com
BlobMailr lets you post directly to your blog by email. Just set up your account on their website and you're ready to go.
STEP 4: Next let's tackle Twitter. To get your photo and blog post on Twitter sign up to TwitterFeed -
http://www.twitterfeed.com/ - this great service will check your blog's RSS feed and post any updates to Twitter.
Now take your photo, resize it, fire up Outlook Mobile, email it to BlogMailr and you're done!
